BRYAN, Texas (KBTX) - Aggieland is starting a busy summer early.

Friday, Downtown Bryan hosted a free concert at the Palace to kick off Troubadour Festival Weekend. The lineup was Cody Canada and the Departed, The Huser Brother Band from Waco and Joey McGee, a Bryan/College Stations local singer songwriter.

There are still tickets to Saturday’s Troubadour Fest at Aggie Park at Texas A&M. It is $125.00 for entry at 1:00 PM for all you can eat from 35 B-B-Q places and live music. For a music ticket only it is $60.00. Headliner is Travis Tritt along with Pat Green and others.

The following weekend is Memorial Day weekend, and it seems it is full speed ahead from there.

Kyle Field will host the Mexico Brazil Soccer match June 8th. The next weekend is the George Strait concert there. Add to that multiple events at Legends Events Center, conferences and other experiences.

These are all possible reasons TripAdvisor just named College Station the second fastest growing domestic destination for U.S. travelers, behind Yosemite National Park.

Destination Bryan paired with the Palace to host Friday’s kick off concert.

Morgan Key is the Business Development Manager of Destination Bryan. She says it is incredible to attend events and talk to visitors.

“They see on their schedule that they are coming to Bryan College Station and they don’t know what to expect. And when they get here, they are so excited to come back. They are very happy with the hospitality that we have,” said Key.
