Michigan was in need of a kicker and added one in Dominic Zvada, a transfer from Arkansas State who announced his commitment on social media Friday night.

The Wolverines relied on transfer kicker James Turner last season but had to find a replacement with his eligibility expired.

Kicker Dominic Zvada (33) was 34-for-40 on field goals during the last two seasons at Arkansas State.

Zvada, a junior, was a Lou Groza semifinalist as a freshman in 2022. He was 17-for-22 on field goals last season with a long of 53 yards and made all 41 extra points. During his freshman season, he was 17-for-18, with a long of 56, and was 30-for-31 on extra points. The 6-foot-3, 174-pounder is from Chandler, Arizona.

He will face his former team this fall when Arkansas State plays Michigan at Michigan Stadium on Sept. 14.
