Amarillo girls place third overall at UIL state golf tournament

The Amarillo girls golf team placed third in the team standings at the UIL Class 5A golf tournament at Legacy Hills Golf Club in Georgetown.

Charlee Thacker, Tyler Held, McKenna Montoya, Addison Britten and Christie Jones combined to turn in a two-day score of 619.

Thacker finished third in the individual standings after firing a two-day score of 143, which included a 68 in the first round.

San Antonio Alamo Heights carded a team score of 601 to win the state championship.
