NFL hands down fines after wild Seahawks-Jaguars finish

The NFL has handed down fines for the players and coaches involved in various altercations during Sunday's Seahawks-Jaguars game.

Ian Rappaport of the NFL Network confirmed the following fines for players involved:

• Seahawks' defensive tackle Quinton Jefferson was fined $9,115 for unnecessary roughness.
• Seahawks' defensive tackle Sheldon Richardson was fined $9,115 for unnecessary roughness.
• Seahawks' offensive tackle Germain Ifedi was fined $24,309 for verbal abuse of a referee.
• Jaguars' running back Leonard Fournette was fined $12,154 for unsportsmanlike conduct.

Tom Pelissero of the NFL Network confirmed the following fines for coaches involved:

• Seahawks' head coach Pete Carroll was fined $10,000 for improperly entering the playing field
• Jaguars assistant coach Pat Flaherty was fined $10,000 for improperly entering the playing field
• Jaguars assistant coach Keenan McCardell was fined $10,000 for improperly entering the playing field

With :50 remaining in their 30-24 loss to the Jaguars, Seahawks' defensive tackle Quinton Jefferson was ejected for unsportsmanlike conduct.

After being ejected, Jefferson jogged towards the tunnel leading to the visiting locker room.

Jefferson abruptly stopped and took off his helmet after it appeared a drink was thrown at him from a fan in the stands.

Jefferson moved towards the stands, and began yelling when more fans threw concessions at him.

Seahawks staffers held Jefferson back as he tried to climb into the stands before he ultimately walked away into the locker room.

Asked about Jefferson after the game head coach Pete Carroll said, "I don't even know what happened... He just kind of lost it."

Carroll went on to say, "It's really unfortunate how it ended. We had a chance to get the ball back. We have to be more poised than that."

The (8-5) Seahawks will return home to face the NFC West-leading Los Angeles Rams on Sunday at CenturyLink Field.
