“Star Wars” movie marathon at Emagine Canton

Because the date of May the fourth sounds like an iconic line from “Star Wars,” “may the force be with you,” it has turned into a holiday of sorts for the movie franchise. Emagine Canton is honoring that by hosting nine “Star Wars” episodes in 24 hours. It starts with “The Phantom Menace” at 8 p.m. Fri. and goes nonstop until “The Rise of Skywalker” at 4:20 p.m. Sat. “Annie” at Fox Theatre

Back to tug on your heartstrings and get your toes tappin’, beloved musical “Annie” hits the Fox Theatre for five performances this weekend. “Newsies” at Grosse Pointe Theatre

The family friendly story of Disney’s “Newsies,” a musical David-versus-Goliath tale inspired by the New York City newspaper strike of 1899, will take the stage at Parcells Auditorium this week and next. Winter hats, gloves, socks, crayons, coloring books and other items will be collected at each performance for the Detroit Goodfellows. 8 p.m. Fri.-Sat. and 2 p.m. Sun. Michigan Antique Festival at Springfield Oaks County Park

Cinco de Mayo in Southwest Detroit

Organized by the Mexican Patriotic Committee of Metropolitan Detroit, this longstanding celebration honors Cinco de Mayo and Mexican-American heritage with a two-day fiesta and a Sunday parade. The cultural fiesta has food, music and family friendly activities at Bagley and 21st streets noon-8 p.m. Sat. and Sun. Strawberry Festival at St. Florian

A sure sign that spring is here, the annual celebration of seasonal red berries returns to this Polish church in Hamtramck. The festivities include Polish cuisine, a strawberry-centric bake sale, kids’ activities and live music, including the Polish Muslims at 6:30 p.m. Sat. and Kielbasa Kings at 3 p.m. Sun. Glass52 at Habatat Galleries Complex

Billed as the largest exhibition of contemporary art glass in the world, this showcase features 400 pieces of studio glass.
