A name synonymous with craft beer and seasoned “cosmik fries” is opening its first restaurant in Macomb County next week.

HopCat will unlock its doors at the Mall at Partridge Creek at 17380 Hall in Clinton Township at 11 a.m. Monday.

HopCat's newest restaurant will open Monday, May 6 at the Mall at Partridge Creek.

A few days later, at 10 a.m. May 11, HopCat will have a housewarming celebration and will award free cosmik fries for a year to the first 100 guests in line, plus some other giveaways. HopCat enthusiasts can start lining up at 6 a.m. but not earlier.

Cozmik fries are beer-battered, tossed in a black pepper seasoning and served with warm, melted cheese sauce.

Like many HopCat locations — there are Metro Detroit restaurants in Midtown Detroit, Royal Oak, Livonia and Ann Arbor — the Clinton Township spot is spacious and offers a wide selection of craft beer taps and pub grub. The 7,000-square-foot restaurant can seat more than 300 people inside, at the bar, on the patio and also has a private event space for 50 people.

For its soft opening, HopCat is partnering with the Humane Society of Macomb County to match up to $5,000 of donations raised through alcohol sales and donations.
