Monroe man arrested for armed robbery

A Toledo police SWAT unit arrested a Monroe man on Tuesday for robbing an Ida Township alcohol store last month.

Anthony Lee Cline, 32, was arraigned Wednesday at the First District Court of Monroe in connection with the armed robbery that occurred April 27.

Cline allegedly entered Ida Party Stop at 2896 Lewis Ave. around 1:45 p.m., wearing a facemask, overalls and gloves, according to a press release from the Monroe County Sheriff's Office.

Cline allegedly implied having a weapon and demanded money from a store employee, fleeing on foot in a car waiting nearby, according to the statement.

Sheriff's deputies determined Cline as a suspect after talking with witnesses and considering a partial Michigan license plate number.

Deputies found Cline allegedly fled to Toledo in the car and requested a warrant for his arrest.

The Monroe County Prosecutor's Office issued the felony warrant on Tuesday, after which Toledo law enforcement arrested Cline and lodged him in the Lucas County Jail.

Judge Amanda Eicher issued a $500,000 bond to Cline with a GPS lockdown tether, according to the release.
