Jackson Jobe, the Tigers' top pitching prospect, was placed on the seven-day injured list Thursday by Double-A Erie with a left hamstring strain.

The right-handed Jobe, 21, appeared to suffer the injury in Wednesday's start at Bowie, which was cut short to three hitless innings. He walked one and fanned five before he exited the game.

Jackson Jobe, the Tigers top pitching prospect, has landed on the seven-day injured list for Double-A Erie with a hamstring injury.

Jobe, who is No. 12 overall in Baseball America's updated top 100 prospects, is off to a strong start with the SeaWolves, compiling a 2.16 ERA and 1.02 WHIP in five starts covering 16.2 innings. He has 24 strikeouts, but 10 walks.

The Tigers selected Jobe No. 3 overall in the 2021 MLB Draft out of an Oklahoma City high school. Lumbar spine inflammation cost him the start of his 2023 season, but he bounced back with 16 starts across four levels, fashioning a 2.81 ERA, 0.98 WHIP and 84 strikeouts in 64 innings, with just six walks. He carried that performance into the Arizona Fall League, where he drew rave reviews.
