Assistance League of Northern Virginia’s Weekend Food for Kids event in April was another smooth operation, with about 60 volunteers from Assistance League, Dominion Energy, Didlake, and the community who packed 1720 bags of food for six schools inFairfax and Prince William counties in about one hour. This feel-good event was enhanced by the return of the DJ, so everyone could pack while enjoying a medley of oldies. The nonprofit also provided some emergency grocery gift cards to those six schools and grocery cards to a seventh school.
As it has done several times this year, Assistance League also delivered new clothing items to seven schools in April, based on their specific requests. The 255 items included socks, underwear, hoodies, sweatpants, leggings, shorts, and T-shirts. The focus for the clothing distribution in May will be warm-weather items, such as shorts and short-sleeve shirts.

Dear Cottage City Residents We respectfully advise that parking will not be permitted on 43rd Ave.between the following
dates and times: April 25th - 27th 2024',7:30a.m - 4:00p.m. The no parking initiative will be based on
the even side of 43d Ave. due to test pitting for CPJ Storm Water Project. If the weather does not permit for the finish of testing, April 29-30th will be the continuum dates to finish. Even side residents may park on the odd side of 43rd or Bunker Hill Road as an alternative during the day. Vehicles will
be towed if not compliant with this request.
Respectfully,
